One-off in Budapest - UEFA Supercup 2020

 24 September 2020

Bayern München vs. Real Madrid (in Budapest)

Champions League winners Bayern München will arrive in Budapest with Lufthansa on a Lufthansa Airbus A319. They will not return to Munich however, but to Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden. Their next away game will be at Sinsheim, against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. Still, this seems slightly surprising, as Bayern are well known to have used widebody aircraft of Lufthansa for similar trips.

The Europa League winners as so often are Sevilla CF, arriving to Budapest with Privilege Style, also as so often:

Spanish Supercopa, 8-12 January 2020

Spanish Supercopa 2020

In an unprecedented event, the Spanish Supercopa will now not only feature four teams instead of just the La Liga champions and the winners of the Copa del Rey. It will also take place in Saudi Arabia for the first time, though previous editions have been played in Morocco as well, much to the dismay of notably a lot of the players involved. Adding extra games with extra travel does not seem to be in their favour, but after all, this is part of what they get paid for.

The semifinal line-up is as follows:

Wednesday 8 January 2020

Valencia CF vs. Real Madrid

Thursday 9 January 2020

FC Barcelona vs. Atlético de Madrid

Italian Supercoppa, 16 January 2019

16 January 2019

Juventus vs. AC Milan (in Jeddah)

The Italian Serie A had the great idea to take the Italian Super Cup to Saudi Arabia, after ventures to other venues like China and Qatar before. While the Italian public was obviously snubbed once again, at least there were some fancy travel options to be seen, with Boeing 767-300/ER ZS-NEX for Juventus and Airbus A340-300 9H-BIG for Milan:
